509-551 W Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48098, USA When Kristy began practicing ashtanga and Iyengar yoga over 18 years ago, she immediately fell in love with the entire practice of yoga and the positive impact it had on her life. She practiced at numerous studios and began to deepen her daily practice, which created an amazing shift in her life. After moving to Scottsdale, Arizona, she began working at At One Yoga, where she began to develop her career in the professional yoga industry and has continued to work in the industry for over 10 years. She has developed relationships and worked with many instructors throughout North America and India, and has studied the anatomy and physiology of the human body in great depth and detail. As an instructor, Kristy brings a balance of strength, honesty, playfulness and self-acceptance to her teaching. She strives to help students see the connection between what they face on the mat in relation to their every day life. She enjoys reminding students to allow themselves to be beginners, no matter how long they have been practicing, and to simply honor themselves for being present. She is a strong teacher and creates everything from challenging vinyasa sequences to relaxing yin classes. She specializes in corporate yoga, private and group lessons, workshops and boot camps, such as CardiYoga, focusing on yoga and cardio training for athletes and those looking to take their practice to the next level. She has also created a buzz with her Balance, Brunch and Brew workshops where she pairs Yoga with Craft beer, wine or specialty cocktails. Kristy is also a certified children's yoga instructor and has been facilitating children's and family yoga workshops for over 15 years. Her playful and patient energy has been drawing children and families together through her workshops consistently. Whether she is teaching family yoga, kid's yoga, or a daisy troop, she creates a fun, safe, loving space for children and their families. It is her belief that as we continue to evoke a sense of confidence, compassion, and healthy habits into our children, we will cultivate a deeper sense of awareness within them to grow and succeed throughout life. In addition to her yoga career, she holds a Masters degree in education, a B.S in psychology and is the founder of Follow the Yogi.
